wHAT DAY DID JESUS DIE AND RISE

Remember a day is counted from sundown to sundown. Around 6-7 PM, it was Passover, the day of preparation, just after the sun dropped and Wednesday the 14th started, Jesus had the last supper. Around 9-10 PM he left and prayed at Gethsemane. He was there for about 3 hours. Around 12-1 AM, Jesus was betrayed and men with swords arrested him. Then he was taken to Caiaphas around 3 AM for a few hours. Around 5-6AM, Jesus was then taken to Pilate where he was flogged, mocked and received the crown of thorns. At this point it was early morning and it was 6 hours from his arrest, that was when Jesus said to the men with swords that arrested him, “this hour belongs to you and to the power of darkness." This took place around 6-7 AM. Jesus was now labeled as “The King of the Jews,” and the Jews shouted, "Crucify him"!" Around 9-10 AM he was on his way to “Golgotha.” A few hours later, Jesus was taken to the place where he was to be crucified. Around 6 hours later (from the time Jesus was labeled “The King of the Jews” and the jews shouted “Crucify him,”) while Jesus was on the cross, the sun was darkened, the veil of the temple was torn down the middle. Around 3 PM Jesus said “Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit.” Then Jesus took his last breath Within the next 3 hours, he was placed in his tomb and buried that Wednesday the 14th, before sundown. He was buried for 3 full nights and 3 full days. All day Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. After the sun dropped saturday and it became Sunday the 18th, the first day of the week, Jesus rose. This was sometime after 6 PM Sunday, but before 6 AM Sunday. For Jesus was gone before the sun rose, but it was still dark out for the sun has not yet fully risen.

This will be the same statement as above with scriptures added to prove scripture cohesion. The statements in green, is new detailed information.

Remember a day is counted from sundown to sundown. Starting with evening when the sun was gone beyond the horizon. That started the new day. (Genesis 1:5) And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

Around 6-7 PM, it was Passover, the day of preparation, (Numbers 9:3) 3 You are to observe it at the appointed time, at twilight on the fourteenth day of this month, in accordance with its statutes and ordinances.”(Leviticus 23:5-7) 5 “The Passover to the LORD begins at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month. 6 On the fifteenth day of the same month begins the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the LORD. For seven days you must eat unleavened bread. 7 On the first day you are to hold a sacred assembly; you are not to do any regular work.” (Mark 14:12)  12 On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover lamb was to be sacrificed, Jesus’s disciples asked Him, “Where do You want us to prepare for You to eat the Passover?” This is why Jesus had to die on this day, because he is our lamb to be slaughtered. (1 Corinthians 5:7) 7 “Get rid of the old leaven, that you may be a new unleavened batch, as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.” just after the sun dropped and Wednesday the 14th started, Jesus had the last supper. (Luke 22:14.15) 14 "When the hour had come, Jesus reclined at the table with His apostles. 15 And He said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before My suffering."

Around 9-10 PM he left and prayed at Gethsemane. (Matthew 26:36) 36 At that time Jesus went with His disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and He told them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” He was there for about 3 hours. Around 12-1 AM, Jesus was betrayed and men with swords arrested him. (Matthew 26:47-49) 47 While Jesus was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived, accompanied by a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and elders of the people. 48 Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: “The One I kiss is the man; arrest Him.” 49 Going directly to Jesus, he said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed Him. Then he was taken to Caiaphas around 3 AM for a few hours. (Matthew 26:57) 57 “Those who had arrested Jesus led Him away to the house of Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and elders had gathered.”  After a few hours Jesus was conspired against and then led to Pilate. (Matthew 27:1) 1 "When morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people conspired against Jesus to put Him to death." (John 18:28) 28 “Then they led Jesus away from Caiaphas into the Praetorium. By now it was early morning, and the Jews did not enter the Praetorium, to avoid being defiled and unable to eat the Passover.”

Around 5-6 AM, Jesus was then taken to Pilate where he was flogged, mocked and received the crown of thorns. (John 19:1-3) 1 "Then Pilate took Jesus and had Him flogged. 2 The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns, set it on His head, and dressed Him in a purple robe. 3 And they went up to Him again and again, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and slapping Him in the face." At this point it was early morning and it was 6 hours from his arrest, that was when Jesus said to the men with swords that arrested him, (Luke 22:53) “this hour belongs to you and to the power of darkness." This took place around 6-7 AM. Jesus was now labeled as “The King of the Jews,” and the Jews shouted, "Crucify him"!" Around 9-10 AM he was on his way to “Golgotha.” (John 19:12-15) 12 “From then on, Pilate tried to release Him, but the Jews kept shouting, “If you release this man, you are no friend of Caesar. Anyone who declares himself a king is defying Caesar.” 13 When Pilate heard these words, he brought Jesus out and sat on the judgment seat at a place called the Stone Pavement, which in Hebrew is Gabbatha. 14 It was the day of Preparation for the Passover, about the sixth hour. And Pilate said to the Jews, “Here is your King!” 15 At this, they shouted, “Away with Him! Away with Him! Crucify Him!” A few hours later, Jesus was taken to the place where he was to be crucified. (Luke 23:33) 33 ”When they came to the place called The Skull, they crucified Him there, along with the criminals, one on His right and the other on His left."

Around 6 hours later (from the time Jesus was labeled “The King of the Jews” and the jews shouted “Crucify him,”) while Jesus was on the cross, the sun was darkened, (Matthew 27:45) 45 "From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land."  the veil of the temple was torn down the middle. (Matthew 27:51) 51 "At that moment the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom."

Around 3 PM Jesus said “Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit.” Then Jesus took his last breath. (Luke 23:46) 46 “Then Jesus called out in a loud voice, “Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit.” And when He had said this, He breathed His last.”

Within the next 3 hours, he was placed in his tomb and buried that Wednesday the 14th, before sundown. (John 19:41,42) 41 "Now there was a garden in the place where Jesus was crucified, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. 42 And because it was the Jewish day of Preparation and the tomb was nearby, they placed Jesus there."

He was buried for 3 full nights and 3 full days. (Matthew 12:40) 40“For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” (Jonah 1:17) 17 "Now the LORD had appointed a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah spent three days and three nights in the belly of the fish." All day Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

After the sun dropped saturday and it became Sunday the 18th, the first day of the week, Jesus rose. This was sometime after 6 PM Sunday evening, but before 6 AM Sunday morning. For Jesus was gone before the sun rose, but it was still dark out for the sun had not yet fully risen.

(Mark 16:1,2) 1 "When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so they could go and anoint the body of Jesus. 2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they went to the tomb."

(Matthew 28:1) 1 "After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb."

(John 20:1) 1 "Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance."

(Luke 24:1) 1 "On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women came to the tomb, bringing the spices they had prepared."
